When I get play bitten my a cat/dog unexpectedly, I get a twinge of pain in my stomach?

Sometimes when our cat or dog will bite my hand or arm unexpectedly, I'll feel a sharp pain in my stomach. Does anyone know why this happens? This will also happen sometimes if I see blood, or witness something that looks like it hurts. XDD Really, I want to know why my body reacts like this.
