140 -150 gallon tank.?

What really common but beautiful fish except gold fish can go into a 140 gall tank? How much would a filter system cost for a tank this size? The pet shops where I live don't sell testing kits or ammonia its a 140 gallon tank If i first introduce new fish slowly will it be ok because it has half a tonne of water?
