Do you like or dislike the ending of Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange"?

I dislike it because it skips the overall message of the Novel. I kind of like how Alex finally grows up at the end of the book, and the movie just implies that he goes back to being malevolent for the rest of his life.
