The presence of internaional obsevers in asylum hearings USA?

My friend has an asylum hearing in US Immigration Court. She was asked for an authorization to allow international observers to be present during the individual hearing. She can agree or refuse.The question is will the presence of the observers benefit the process of the hearing or it could turnaround and be even worse for her.
